Eighty-one years have passed since the first detonation of an atomic bomb in the New Mexico desert. Attempts to prevent catastrophe from their use remain stalled.
Sandi, I’m a big fan of Chris Wallace and his book is very throughly researched. As I remember he believes that Truman made the right decision overall and I think he has the temperature and temperament of the times. Just reflecting I think the planet would have been better off without nuclear weapons. Though the German project was a failure we still knew Stalin was working on it - just not how far along there were, with or without all the espionage! - best farooq
I am reading Chris Wallace's book " Countdown ". Adding in the timeliness it all appears thoughtless, grotesque and incomprehensible.
